 Our Company
Family owned company established in 1929 in the village of Gigondas, the company Pierre Amadieu is located in the heart of Provence (Vaucluse).
The Estate is now 140 hectares, and wines are achieved, matured and bottled by ourselves in several buildings, owned by the family.
Vineyards
Pernes les Fontaines (Vaucluse) :
6 Hectares planted in the Côtes du Ventoux (Grenache) and Vin de Pays de Vaucluse (Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes)areas.
Travaillan (Vaucluse) :
7 Hectares planted in Vin de Table area
Gigondas (Vaucluse) :
The Domain Romane Machotte is a 135 hectares' vineyard planted in the Gigondas Appellation Controlled Area. It is the the biggest vineyard of the appellation in term of volume. Facing West and located at a height of 300 meters, this vineyard has been bought in the 1950's by the family.

The Domain Grand Romane
Wines from the "Domaine Grand Romane", 40 hectares' estate is made in the old building called "La Romane", the maturation in new oak as well as in big oak casks is made in another building called "La Machotte". These two buildings are situated in the heart of the Estate at the feet of the Dentelles de Montmirail. Wines are Estate bottled, grapes are picked up only by hand.

Vin de Pays de Vaucluse: Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon
Côtes du Rhône White: Clairette and White Grenache
Côtes du Rhône Red: achieved with the young vines of the domain planted in the Gigondas area.
Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, Cinsault. Matured in big oak Casks
Gigondas Red: selection of the oldest vines Grenache, Mourvèdre blended with Syrah and Counoise. Blend of traditional vinification (long vattings...) and long carbonic maceration. Malolactic fermentation and maturation in new oak barrels during 18 months.

Wines are made at the head office in Gigondas where of tanks have been built, the maturation takes place in an ancient Railway tunnel where 159 big oak casks are laying down.
Maturation, bottling and ageing in bottles as well as shipments and marketing of others appellations are the main activities of the Head office located in Gigondas.
Shops owned by les Celliers Amadieu are in charge of bottles and bulk Sales to private clients

Rosé achieved by bleeding of the vats (Grenache, Cinsault, Syrah)
Red: Grapes are 100% destemmed, traditional wine making, with long vattings , maturation in big oak casks during 18 months in underground cellars.

Pierre Amadieu works in partnership with several Estates, in order to enlarge his range of famous Rhône wines and to propose you the largest choice:
Vin de Pays, Côtes du Rhône Villages Séguret, Vacqueyras,
Tavel, Lirac, Chateauneuf du Pape, Muscat de Beaumes de Venise, Crozes Hermitage
and Saint Joseph.
