Our family history is intimately linked to the village of Gigondas. For three generations, we have put all our know-how to work for this exceptional terroir by revealing and highlighting this prestigious appellation. Pierre Amadieu, the founder, has never ceased to promote and defend it, and he actively participated in its recognition as a Cru in 1971.<\/p>\n

Gigondas benefits from an exceptional situation with its diversity of terroirs and parcels that extend to the heights of the Dentelles de Montmirail mountains. This unique vinegrowing area has been shaped by the hand of men for centuries. The vines are deeply rooted in clay-limestone soils, bathed in sunlight and freshened by the wind.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

The originality of this terroir on the left bank of the Rh\u00f4ne in its southern part lies in the composition of the soils: stony terraces of alpine diluvium – famous rolled pebbles that store heat during the day and release it at night – clay slopes, some sandy patches that cover a predominantly limestone subsoil that can outcrop. A microclimate derived from the dominant Mediterranean climate allows for exceptional sunshine, where the help of the Mistral is far from negligible.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<\/section>\n\t\t\t\t

Benefiting from a Mediterranean climate like all the Crus of the southern C\u00f4tes du Rh\u00f4ne, Vacqueyras is distinguished by a terraced terroir that stretches from the southwestern foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail to the Sarrians plateau. They are composed of alluvial soils and glacial terraces of the Riss. The soils are sandy-clayey, with banks of rolled pebbles on the terraces of the Garrigues, towards the south of the appellation. Red wines represent 96% of the appellation.
