JebDunnuck.com Gigondas Domaine Grand Romane 2016

The 2016 Gigondas Domaine Grand Romane was tasted as a barrel sample, and it offers already complex notes of black raspberries, bay leaf and hints of sappy garrigue, medium to full bodied richness, and a balanced, textured style on the palate. A blend of 65% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 20% Mourvèdre, from clay and limestone soils, it spent 18 months in 40% larger oak casks, with the balance in barrels, a small portion being new.
