Another charmer is the 2015 Gigondas Romane-Machotte, which is an 80/20 split of Grenache and Syrah, from the La Machotte lieu-dit located between 260-400 meters in elevation. Aged 12 months in equal parts larger oak casks and older barrels, it offers ample notes of blueberries, strawberries, leafy herbs and pepper. With medium-bodied richness, a rounded, supple, fruit forward style, and solid length, drink it over the coming 7-8 years.
