Dear Madam, Sir,
What a pleasure it is to share with you some news from the estate after a quiet winter season in the vineyard. We are delighted to inform you about our projects, our progress, and the wonderful recognition that has marked the beginning of this year.
In the Vineyard: preserving our heritage
Since September, Jean-Gabriel Amadieu has been working alongside Claude and Éric in managing the vineyard and sharing his daily life in Gigondas. From climate change adaptation to the soil preservation and biodiversity committment, he shares his vision for a sustainable and responsible viticulture. Discover his interview.
In the Cellar: A new winery under construction
One of the key goals of this project is to rethink the journey of the grapes —from the vineyard to the fermentation tanks—by implementing a gravity-flow reception system. By replacing tractor bins with smaller containers, we reduce mechanical stress on the berries, preserving more freshness, finesse, and fruit expression.
This new facility will also enable us to increase our parcel-based vinification. By working with smaller volumes, we can deepen our understanding of each plot’s potential and fully reveal the aromatic identities of our various grape varieties.
Our award-winning wines
Our wines receive high praise and start the year in the spotlight! We are thrilled to announce that our Gigondas Domaine Grand Romane red 2022 has been ranked among the Top 100 Wines of the Year by the prestigious James Suckling magazine, receiving a stellar 94/100 rating. This remarkable recognition celebrates a vintage that is both radiant and powerful, with a silky texture that is already delightful to enjoy today, yet perfectly poised for aging.
These awards reflect the richness of our terroirs and the diligent work of our teams.
I hope to satisfy your expectations and to bring you beautiful emotions through my wines, please receive my friendly and dedicated winemaking thoughts.
Pierre Amadieu
