The pale-ruby-colored 2022 Gigondas Le Pas de l’Aigle is medium to full-bodied, savory and complex. Blending 90% Grenache with 10% Syrah, it will mature for two years foudres, with an additional year in bottle ahead of commercial release. This will be necessary, as the firm tannic structure requires times to mellow. Nonetheless, the aromas and flavors already show quite well, including a mingling spice box, strawberry, raspberry, black cherry graphite and a menthol splash.
