The 2020 Gigondas Le Pas De L’Aigle (90% Grenache and 10% Syrah) is another gem of a wine in the making. Coming from higher elevation parcels and brought up in oak, it has an incredibly Provençal bouquet of ripe cherries, garrigue, candied flowers, and loamy earth. Medium to full-bodied on the palate, it shows the more elegant side of the vintage, has ripe tannins, and is clearly an outstanding (if not quite a bit more) wine that readers will love.
