The flagship cuvée is the 2017 Gigondas Le Pas De L’Aigle, which comes from a northwest-facing parcel located at the foot of the Dentelles at an elevation of 400 meters above sea level. It has a complex, lively perfume of spring flowers, rose petals, mulberries, and kirsch to go with a medium to full-bodied, silky style on the palate. It doesn’t have the density of the 2016, yet it certainly isn’t far off. It’s going to benefit from short-term cellaring and keep for a decade.
