Harvest 2021

In Gigondas, we have just finished harvesting the last grapes, which are perfectly ripe thanks to the magnificent sun that continues to shine on our beautiful region. Now, the team in the winery is hard at work for the vinifications which will last a few more weeks. This 2021 vintage is particularly late compared to previous years, notably because of the severe spring frost. The rest of the season went smoothly, which allowed us to harvest beautiful fruit. The first juices are very expressive, with a moderate tannic presence.

The harvest season is an opportunity to highlight the women and men who work with us,respecting the pace of the vines and the wines.
Pierre Amadieu has a multi-skilled team. Each of them has their own area of excellence in order to deliver the best expression of our terroirs.

New vintage to taste : 2019

Available for most of our cuvées, the 2019 vintage shows great concentration and maturity. Thanks to a very favourable weather, we have harvested magnificent fruits which give us today wines of a great quality. To learn more about this vintage, read the article on our website.

Dégustation

Gigondas Romane Machotte

To celebrate the 50th anniversary of our prestigious appellation, we are highlighting our Romane Machotte cuvée. This is the first Gigondas cuvée made by Pierre Amadieu Sr. following the acquisition of the Romane and Machotte properties in the 1950s. Since then, it has followed the evolution of the estate. The Grenache and Syrah vines find their expression in the sandy marls of the Cretaceous. The altitude of the vines gives a pleasant freshness. The balance of this cuvée is preserved by a gentle vinification and careful ageing in old tuns, in order to bring out the richness of the wine. When you taste it, you will keep in your mouth for a long time the aromas of the garrigue, which borders the estate, its spicy flavours, small black and red fruits, and a pleasant sensation of mineral finesse. It is a wine of pleasure which enhances an entire meal.

Oenotourism in Gigondas

This summer, we had the pleasure of offering you cultural visits of the village and tasting workshops under the sign of the 50 years of the AOC Gigondas.
The cultural visits also continue during the winter season! Come and stroll through the beautiful streets of our village on 2 November, 22 and 27 December 2021.
